New Mexico EMT & Paramedic Training & Certification

New Mexico EMT & Paramedic Certification Requirements

Before committing the time and money it takes for EMS certifications, you must be sure there is not anything in your background that may prevent you from attaining your state certification! Any criminal offences may disqualify you, so it is best to check with the state EMS office if you have questionable background prior to training.

The State of New Mexico requires emergency medical personnel to be licensed through the New Mexico EMS Bureau. To qualify to submit the certification application, the applicant must have already taken and passed the National Registry (NREMT) examination. To qualify to take the NREMT exams, the applicant must have previously completed an approved NREMT training program, like PERCOMonline’s EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic programs.

Other EMS certification requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age when applying
  • Submit fingerprints for criminal background check in New Mexico
  • Must have high school or GED diploma
  • Valid CPR certification

Reciprocity

Some applicants may already have a license in another state, but are wishing to legally work in New Mexico. This applicant must go through the “reciprocity” process to attain the New Mexico certification using their existing license. PERCOMonline Training For New Mexico Students

PERCOMonline is not an officially recognized training facility for EMT Basic, Advanced EMT, Paramedic, and EMS Instructor licenses for California. However, many New Mexico students have completed our programs for National Registry certification, which they use to acquire their New Mexico license.

PERCOMonline is not approved in New Mexico for clinical affiliation agreements with hospital and EMS provider sites within the state. Our NM students must use the approved sites found on this map -> https://www.staging2023.percomcourses.com/clinical-locations-map/
